GSUS Sindustries A/W 2013 Media Preview

Intricate is not a bold enough word to describe the patterns and designs of Gsus Sindustries; Instinct is. On May 9th, Torontonians were able to preview the three storied themed masterpeices of the 2013 Autumn/Winter collection for Gsus. Inspired by Military, Folklore and Russian culture, each fabric and detail led right back to their unique Brand mark and slogan- ‘Made by Instinct’.

Gsus Sindustries is a clothing line founded in 1993. The name came from the love of music and a strong faith in christianity. The clothing has a 3 staged philosophy that is still implemented today: craftmanships/intuition, Dreams/Logic and Precision/Free Association. Gsus is “Style that works in harmony but thrives for confrontation”. The masterpieces aren’t thoought of over night, designers spend time in finding elements that increase the quality of clothing without decreasing in style.

In one aspect one can see the elements added through their clothing, such as the added pins, additional zipper, or multiple pattterns. However, the Gsus Denim, will blow your mind. One example, is the incorporation of Aloe Vera plant extract in their jeans. The Aloe Vera remains on the fibres rubbing into your skin protecting the skin from premature aging by reducing the effects that noxious pollutants and UV exert” Other Denim elements that are beneficial to the consumers are made up of small details that enhance the quality of the denim such as Dry Resin, Herringbone, towel tough and more. Each element prevents everyday hassles like dye wear out, or threading.

Gsus also focuses on the philosophy of logic, naming certain items and pieces after well known genusis or impactful humans, ie, Newton, Einstein and more. Meaning is behind each name, as specific merchandise is tailored and equipped with a stylish and unique purposes.

Walk It is the first single from her upcoming project Nevermore, produced by Dot Da Genius ( also producer for Kid Cudi ). Nevermore is due out this summer.

Out of The Box: Rise of the Sneaker Culture

Sneaker Heads went crazy on April 25th at the Bata Shoe Museum’s launch of the ‘Out of the Box’ showcase. Shoes from various brands- Adidas, Nike, Puma, Reebox and more flourished in the top level of the musuem. Some pairs were donated and others archives pulled out by the museum.

The night was also a tribute to legendary DJ and current film maker for the Movie Doin it in the Park, a Film project that captures the beauty of street basketball and all it’s attributes, right down to the kicks. Alongside a book that has more shoes that were displayed that night and the famous athletes that wore them. Fans were eager to meet Garcia and get their books signed.

The night had a lot on display, but it was the audience that made an impact. Sneaker fans came through with various one of a kind exclusive footwear like the Air Yeezys, Foamposites, Adidas Originals, and of course Jordan brands.

Rockstar Games releases trailer for Grand Theft Auto V staring three main protagonist, Michael, Frank and Trevor. Each get trailers showcasing what we’ll be doing in beautiful Los Santos this fall. Michael is a retired gangster from the game who’s moved into the city but is having a mid-life crisis with depression and still needs the excitement of the action.

Frank is gang-banger, who’s trying to leave that lifestyle behind but has a few more special missions he must complete before making that exit. Last but not least is the most intriguing out of the bunch, Trevor. He’s a lunatic drug-dealing live-wire who’s willing to do anything and everything to get his point across

“I wanted to model when I was younger,” he says. “I was always into clothes and shit.” It’s a fact that’s constantly reinforced by his lyrics (Drop-crotch Jeremy Scott pants, bitch it’s Hammer time) and by menswear blogs that practically worship him. “I’m the man on those things,” Rocky gloats. “I don’t really look at them. Well, I guess I do, but only when I’m looking at myself. I inspire me.”
